A Top 10 List of Keto Hamburgers

Everyone loves a good hamburger! You don’t have to give them up if you’re keto. You just adjust them a little bit and you are good to go! Get it without a bun and skip any sugary sauces. But, where do you get the best burgers? Here’s our list of our top 10 keto hamburgers. These burger joints don’t include anywhere we haven’t been. It’s based on our direct experience. Naturally, this is our opinion. Because, well, it’s our blog.

The Fast Food Keto Hamburgers

There are dozens of fast food options available for hamburgers. The one I have coming in at number 10 is Dairy Queen. They have two good options for keto. You can get the bacon two cheeseburger deluxe. It has 2 patties, cheese, bacon, tomato, onion, lettuce, pickles, ketchup and mayo. I’d get it with no bun, no onions, and no ketchup.

The second option is their original double cheeseburger. It has 2 patties, cheese, pickles, ketchup, and mustard. I’d ask for no bun, no onions, and no ketchup. I’d also ask if I could add some mayo. These sound like two solid options, so why is it the least favourite on my list? Because whenever I go into Dairy Queen, I crave ice cream!

Number 9 on my list is Harvey’s. You can get an angus burger with cheese and bacon, no bun. Or, you can get the original burger with cheese and bacon, no bun. You get to choose your own toppings, so why is this so low down on my list? Well, because I haven’t tried the angus burger yet, and I hate the taste and the texture of the original patty. Again, my opinion, my list, my blog – lol.

More Fast Food Options

Number 8 on my list is Burger King. Again, it’s okay, but I don’t really like the meat patty texture. You’ll notice texture is a big thing for me. I like meat that feels like meat. At Burger King, I get a whopper with cheese. It usually has tomato, lettuce, mayo, ketchup, pickles and onions. I get mine without the bun, ketchup, or onions.

Next on the list is A&W. I really like A&W, but all their sauces have sugar added! I get the teen burger, but I can’t have the teen sauce because it has modified corn starch, sugar, and caramel in it. What I do like is that they make it easy to make the bun into a lettuce wrap. O, I get a teen burger in a lettuce wrap, with no onion, no teen sauce, and no ketchup. I add mayo to it.

Even More Fast Food Keto Hamburgers

Can you even mention fast food without talking about McDonald’s? We have a staple order from here. A BLT quarter pounder. No bun, no ketchup, no onions. This baby has 3 net grams of carbs. A great on-the-go lunch.

Number 5 is Wendy’s. No, it’s not higher on the list because of my name. This burger just tastes fresher. We get a son of a baconator. They have lettuce wraps easily available for you. We ask for no ketchup, but get avocado added. Adds to the fat and the taste!

Sit Down Keto Hamburgers at Restaurants

The Rainforest Cafe has a good burger. We don’t have one locally, but we do go here when we are in the States. We ask for the burger with no bun or fries. It comes with lettuce, tomato, onion, and cheese. I add guacamole and bacon and ask for mayo, no ketchup. The downside? It’s pricey for a burger.

Number 3 on this list is 5 Guys. When we got a franchise in Halifax, I could not wait to try it after reading all the hype. It did not disappoint! You order your burger the way you want it. I get it in a lettuce wrap and ask for tomato, cheese, bacon, and mayo. It is delicious. And, although the milkshakes look good, I’m so happy with my burger, I don’t crave it…much.

Top Two Burgers

Number 2 on our list is a local restaurant. The Kings Arms Pub is a smaller place in Kentville, Nova Scotia. We go there specifically for their three cheese and triple bacon burger. It’s huge, and decadent, and oh, so yummy. It comes with cheddar, mozza, and Swiss cheese. Six (count them) slices of bacon. It also has lettuce, tomato, and mayo. Of course, we ask for no bun. Instead of fries, we get a side Caesar salad. You have to be really hungry to get this into you, but it’s so good!

The number one burger is our own BBQ burger. Maybe it tastes special because we can only BBQ about 6 months of the year. But, honestly, nothing tastes better. We add bacon, cheese, a no-sugar BBQ sauce and mayo. I could eat a dozen of them, but I usually stick with one or two.

A Final Look at Keto Hamburgers

After this list of keto hamburgers, if you aren’t craving one, I haven’t done my job. It’s one of our go-to’s when we are out because it’s easy to tweak and a good, solid low-carb option. When in doubt, go with a burger!
