As COVID restrictions ease, Bill and I are getting more excited to travel again.  We agreed that our first stop is going to be Disney World in Florida!  With Bill’s health concerns, going off plan for this vacation is not an option.  We have to keep his insulin levels stable.  This means no funnel cakes and cupcakes for us.  But that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy what we eat at Disney World!  We have gone through the menus of each individual restaurant and kiosk to get the best starting information for you if you want to stay on keto at Hollywood Studios while you meet The Mouse.

As with any restaurant, be sure to ask lots of questions.  Disney is known for their superior service, even with the quick serve and snack options and they are used to people asking about nutritional information.  These are some ideas of where to start, but Disney changes things up all the time so they are suggestions only.  If a restaurant is not listed, it is because it is brand new or because there is nothing keto on their menu.  Make sure you do your own research and if you are unsure, just ask.

Keto at Hollywood Studios Isn’t Difficult

ABC Commissary – Commissary Lane

They have a Babybel cheese option as a side, which is nice.  You could easily get the chicken club with no bun.

Backlot Express – Echo Lake

If you’re just looking for a plain old burger, this might be your best option.  They have a ⅓ pound Angus bacon cheeseburger or a ⅓ pound Angus cheeseburger available.  Get it with no bun and no fries.

Catalina Eddie’s – Sunset Blvd.

This place doesn’t have a great selection of options, but it does have keto’s good old faithful, the chicken Caesar salad.  Just ask for no croutons.

Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo – Galaxy’s Edge

This was a disappointment to me, because I love Star Wars themes.  Unfortunately, everything is glazed and marinated in sugary sauces.  I would skip this one unless you ask a lot of questions!

Dockside Diner – Echo Lake

You might be able to get away with the shrimp salad roll with no bun.  That is, if you enjoy shrimp from an imitation steamer ship on a hot, Florida day.  You’re call.  Ask lots of questions with this one.

Disney Hotdogs Anyone

Fairfax Fare – Sunset Blvd.

This is a hotdog place and actually looks interesting to me.  They have all-beef ¼ pound hot dogs.  The California BLTA hotdog is topped with lettuce, tomato, avocado, bacon and house-made black pepper mayonnaise.  Make sure to ask for no tortilla chips on it or the bun.  They also have just the ¼ pound all-beef hot dog available.  Again, get it with no bun.  Their hotdogs are served with pickled vegetables, which usually contain sugar.  The other side option is parmesan chips.  This is interesting.  They may be keto-friendly.  If you ask at the restaurant, they can show you the nutritional information and you can make your own decision.  When we go, I will definitely check them out.

KRNR The Rock Station – Sunset Blvd.

This place has no keto food options.  They do have frozen Coca Cola drinks.  It doesn’t list diet Coke as an option for a frozen drink, but if they have it, this may be an excellent treat for those hot Florida days!

PizzeRizzo – Grand Avenue

I did not expect to find anything at a quick-serve pizza place for people on keto.  I mean, there’s always the option of pulling the toppings off the pizza, but that’s super messy and not much fun.  However, they have an antipasto salad.  It has ham, salami, pepperoni, olives, mozzarella, tomatoes, pepperoncini peppers and red onion with chopped romaine lettuce.  It comes with a house vinaigrette.  This seems like a solid option.  They also have Babybel cheese snacks offered as a side.

Me and Eeyore before keto!

Ronto Roasters – Galaxy’s Edge

Finally, Galaxy’s Edge has some options that at least you can ask about!  The Ronto Wrap sounds good with roasted pork and grilled pork sausage.  It comes with peppercorn sauce, which historically has a lot of carbs (like around 6 grams in a Tablespoon) but you could probably get away with a tiny bit on the side.  Just get it without the slaw and the wrap.  They also have pork rinds.  You can ask for them without the chili and you should be okay with those.

Rosie’s All-American Café – Sunset Blvd.

This place has your typical theme park fare with hotdogs, bacon cheeseburgers, and cheeseburgers available.  Just get them with no bun and pick your condiments wisely.  They have a cheese sauce that I would check out as well!

Trolley Car Café – Hollywood Blvd.

This is a Starbucks, so whatever you usually order at Starbucks will work here.  Their breakfast sandwiches look really good, if you’re at the park nice and early.  Just get them without the bun (or pick the bun off if they are pre-packaged).

Woody’s Lunch Box – Toy Story Land

Most people go here for the lunch box tarts.  These are like Pop Tarts, and they are also similar in that they are not keto-friendly.  There is one option here to investigate.  That is the smoked turkey sandwich with no bun.  It has smoked turkey breast, lettuce, tomato and a Dijonnaise spread.  They also have Babybel cheese snacks for a side and a cheese sauce.

Not Really Keto at Hollywood Studios

Ones to skip unless you just want water:

  • Anaheim Produce – they do have a pickle in a bag, which I believe is a keto pickle.  Other than that, it’s pretty much carb-heavy items.
  • Epic Eats offers funnel cakes and ice cream.  Not much here for keto people.
  • Hollywood Scoops is an ice cream place.  They do, however, have Joffery’s coffee, if you need a pick me up.
  • Kat Saka’s Kettle in Galaxy’s Edge is a place that has popcorn and something called blue grains.  Nothing keto about this place.  Fail again, Galaxy’s Edge.
  • Market has some fruit options, but they tend to be high carb options.  I’d skip this unless you just want a diet soda or water.
  • Likewise, the Neighborhood Bakery is just going to tempt you with sweet, sugary treats.  It’s a definite skip for us.
