If there is one thing we love as much as keto, itā€™s Disney World. We first went there when our daughter was 7 years old. She was old enough to handle the lineups, but young enough to believe in the magic. It was perfect. Except for the food. We didnā€™t know how food options worked our first time around. Weā€™ve been back a few times since then and figured it out. Now that weā€™re keto, it puts a different spin on it, so we thought we would share our knowledge with you. So, here is the fourth in a five part series – eating keto at Animal Kingdom for quick service options.

Quick serve is like a fast food restaurant at Disney. You go up to a counter and order. Your food is handed to you, and you go sit where you can find room. Disney is known for their superior service, even with quick serve and snack kiosks. They are used to people asking about nutritional information. We have gone through the menus of these restaurants to get the best starting information for you. That being said, Disney changes things all the time, so these are just beginning suggestions. Make sure you do your own research, and if you are unsure, just ask.

Keto at Animal Kingdom for Breakfast

I was actually surprised at how much is available in Animal Kingdom for breakfasts. Creature Comforts is your Starbucks location in the park. It offers your usual coffees, teas, and cold brews so enjoy your morning caffeine. They have some breakfast sandwiches that sound good, just donā€™t eat the bun or wrap. Some of the toppings include sausage, cheese, eggs, gouda, bacon, ham, spinach, and feta.

The Isle of Java offers Joffreyā€™s coffee, so if you prefer their coffee, this is the place to go. They also have a breakfast sandwich with sausage, egg and cheese on a biscuit. Just donā€™t eat the biscuit, and you are good to go. A similar offering is available at Tamu Tamu Refreshments.

If your family wants to go to Pongu Pongu, there is a breakfast biscuit there with sausage, egg, and cheese. Just donā€™t eat the biscuit. However, they donā€™t have coffee listed as an option, so I would not be going there for breakfast!

Yak and Yeti Local Food Cafe has some breakfast options as well. They have a breakfast bowl with bacon or sausage. Just get it without the potatoes. They also have a sausage and egg breakfast sandwich. Get this without the muffin or hash browns.

Keto Snacks at Animal Kingdom

There are not a lot of snacks at Animal Kingdom that are keto-friendly. The Harambe Fruit Market does have a Babybel cheese snack as an option. You may want to bring your own snacks in a cooler and leave it at a locker. Of course, you can always just get some more coffee!

Main Meals that are Keto at Animal Kingdom

One of the most popular quick service options in their park is the Flame Tree BBQ. This can be tricky, as BBQ sauce usually has a lot of sugar in it. However, it looks like they use a rub on the chicken and ribs to cook them. If the rub doesnā€™t have sugar in it, you could get them without the sauce. This is one where you will have to ask at the counter for the nutritional information.

The Harambe Market has a salad that looks delicious. You can get it with or without chicken added. The dressing is a vinaigrette, so ask about the nutritional information. You can also get it on the side and just dip your fork in it to get a little bit of the flavour.

Satuā€™li Canteen is very popular among the keto people. Get one of the bowls (grilled beef or chicken – or the combination) with a salad base. Unfortunately, the Boba balls are not keto-friendly. There is some debate of what they are, but none of the options listed out there are keto-friendly. Feel free to ask though! You may be surprised!

Traditional Theme Park Food at Animal Kingdom

The Harambe Fruit Market has hotdogs listed as a menu item. You can get it without the bun or ketchup. A new trick Iā€™ve learned is to get the hotdog with the bun and use it as the holder for the weiner. I donā€™t eat the bun, but it makes the process less messy!

The Yak and Yeti Local Food Cafe has a Kobe cheeseburger that sounds delicious. Get it without the bun, ketchup or fries.

The one that impresses me the most in Animal Kingdom is Restaurantosaurus. They have hotdogs with cheese you can add. There is also your typical cheeseburgers and bacon cheeseburgers (get without a bun, fries, or ketchup). They also have a Cobb salad with or without chicken. The salads come with a dressing called ā€œGreen Goddess Dressing.ā€ Youā€™ll have to ask what is in it to decide if you want that on it or maybe on the side.

A Final Thought About Keto at Animal Kingdom

Animal Kingdom is not known for its food options, but there is a lot available for quick service here. This is good news, because it may just be my favourite park. Magic Kingdom is a classic, but I love the safari, the way Disney provides room for the animals to roam, and Everest is my favourite roller coaster! Iā€™m glad I can spend the day and not have to leave to eat.
