If there is one thing we love as much as keto, it’s Disney World. We first went there when our daughter was 7 years old. She was old enough to handle the lineups, but young enough to believe in the magic. It was perfect. Except for the food. We didn’t know how food options worked our first time around. We’ve been back a few times since then and figured it out. Now that we’re keto, it puts a different spin on it, so we thought we would share our knowledge with you. So, here is the final blog in a five part series – eating keto at Disney Springs for quick service options.
Quick serve is like a fastfood restaurant at Disney. You go up to a counter and order. Your food is handed to you, and you go sit where you can find room. Disney is known for their superior service, even with quick serve and snack kiosks. They are used to people asking about nutritional information. We have gone through the menus of these restaurants to get the best starting information for you. That being said, Disney changes things all the time, so these are just beginning suggestions. Make sure you do your own research, and if you are unsure, just ask.
Keto at Disney Springs for Breakfast
Disney Springs is more of a late-night place, so there aren’t a lot of breakfast options available. In fact, it doesn’t even open until 10 am. That being said, you do still have your typical Starbucks (2 locations) or Joffrey’s coffee stops. Along with their coffee, they also have the usual breakfast sandwiches that you can take apart and just not eat the bun or muffin that comes with it.
The one place that does have some really good breakfast options is Earl of Sandwich. They have breakfast sandwiches. Most come with a “breakfast sauce” but where they make it in front of you, it might be possible to change that sauce out for mayonnaise. They definitely have mayo there. There are also the breakfast bowls available. Just ask for no roasted potatoes. Some places will give you some extra tomato as a substitute, so that might be an option.
Keto-Friendly Sandwiches and Burgers at Disney Springs
You would think that Earl of Sandwich would be a keto-unfriendly place to eat, but truly, if you take away the bread part, it can be a great choice. They have many hot sandwiches that offer you some tasty options. Personally, the one I want to try is the chipotle chicken avocado. It sounds delicious! They also have numerous wraps (just don’t eat the wrap) and side salads available.
Cookes of Dublin is mostly a fish and chips place, with battered fish, so that’s not keto friendly. If you have others in your party who want to go there, you can get a Dubliner burger with no ketchup, no bun, and no chips. It’s not very exciting, but it can keep you on track.
D-Luxe Burger is a typical burger joint. They have a sauce called 1921 sauce. From what I can find, it looks like it has non-keto ingredients like buttermilk, ketchup, and sugar in it. Ask if you can substitute mayonnaise instead of the sauce. Other than that, just don’t eat the bun or get the chips as sides, and you are good to go.
Main Meals that are Keto at Disney Springs
I was so excited to look at Polite Pig, and I was really disappointed. According to the website, their meats are all flavoured in fruit juices, and/or smothered in sugary BBQ sauces. I really don’t see (at first glance) anything I can eat on keto there. You may want to check in with them and see if they can hook you up with something, but for a chicken sandwich, I just don’t really think it’s worth the trouble.
BB Wolf’s Sausage Co. has lots of options for you if you just don’t eat the bun or the chips. They have your typical all-beef foot long sausage and a ¼ pound all-beef sausage available. You can also get a little innovative with their bratwurst sausage and New York pastrami reuben. Mustard is typically keto-friendly and it goes well with sausages. This could be a great lunch!
The Stars When Eating Keto at Disney Springs
There are a couple of places that offer keto-friendly options that stand a bit above the rest. The first is Chicken Guy. Order the grilled all-natural tenders. They have numerous sandwich options (just don’t eat the bun), or you can just get the tenders themselves with a couple of signature sauces. What I love about their menu online is that they list the ingredients in the sauces, so you can quickly know what is keto friendly. There are lots of options – I would try the avocado crema and curry mayo myself. I can’t wait to try this place!
Blaze Fast-Fire’d Pizza is well known among the keto community because they offer a keto crust. Of course, it’s more expensive ($4 more at the time I’m writing this), but it offers you a choice for pizza, which is very exciting. Build your own and get keto-friendly toppings.
The one big surprise to me is The YeSake Kiosk. They have a build your own poke bowl. Use seasonal greens as your base. You can choose from tuna, salmon, chicken breast, or beef as the meat. Toppings that are keto-friendly include cheese and avocado. They have a couple of sauces, such as the sriracha and spicy mayo, that sound great. I would eat this all day!
A Final Thought
One final option for a picnic snack is The Basket at Wine Bar George. They have bites to go, such as a cheese plate and a charcuterie board. It might be nice to grab one of these and sit by the water before you go for a full dinner.
So that’s my picks for quick service options at Disney Springs. Hopefully, we will get there soon and I can give my own personal opinion of these stops!
