We don’t have a lot of Texas Roadhouses where we live, but they are popular throughout the keto world, so we thought we’d take a look at their nutritional information.  Some of their options are really good.  Other options that I thought would be okay are not okay!  Follow this guide or check it out for yourself before you make a trip.  To create this guide, we look at their nutritional information and point out the things on the menu that are at or under 10 grams of net carbs for Keto at Texas Roadhouse. Steak is Usually a Safe Bet

Usually, a steak house is a safe bet for someone on keto.  Order a steak and you are good to go!  Before we go over what ones are options for us keto peeps, here are a couple of things you should know.  The bone-in ribeye steak has 16 grams of net carbs in it!  I’m not sure how or why, but that is what is listed in their nutritional information.  Also, the filet medallions and steak kabob numbers in the nutritional information include seasoned rice, so they do not seem like a good option for a low-carb diet.

One final point: they have something on the menu called roadkill.  I did some research and I don’t think it’s actually roadkill (lol).  It actually looks really good as a chop steak smothered with sauteed onions and mushrooms and Monterey Jack cheese.  Okay, on to the good stuff!

How We Would Eat Keto at Texas Roadhouse

So, what would I order?  There are a few things that sound really good on this menu!  I think I would go for the 8 oz New York Strip with a side house salad and maybe split a serving of mushrooms with Bill.  Although, the Roadkill item looks really good!  I’m just not sure I can get over the name…lol.  We are planning a road trip to the States for next year (if COVID is then not a concern) and I think the Texas Roadhouse will definitely be on our list for places to eat!
