We found a quick and easy recipe for a mug cake that is like a cinnamon roll. Now, I am an expert on cinnamon buns. Before I was keto, Cinnabon was my jam. When we went to Disney World, I specifically went to Gaston’s Tavern for their cinnamon buns. When we went keto, one of the first things I had to find was a recipe for cinnamon buns. But does cinnamon mug cake fill that void?
Cinnamon Mug Cake Vs Cinnabon
They are definitely one of my favorite desserts and they usually take a lot of time and patience to create. So, I was not very hopeful about something that took all of 2 minutes to make.
We mixed all the ingredients into a large mug and stirred it up so it was as smooth as possible. Then, we put the mug in the microwave for 90 seconds. And, huh, it was pretty good. I mean, it wasn’t the best thing ever, but it took 2 minutes total to make it. I was pleasantly surprised.
Whip Cream Helps A Lot
We made it again on a night when we didn’t have a dessert prepped and we didn’t have the energy to make something from scratch. This time, we took the cake out of the mug and put some whipped cream to the side. Again, really good. If you had some cream cheese frosting in the fridge, that would make a great addition too.
It’s quick, it’s easy, it takes ingredients us keto bakers have in our cupboards and it tastes good. For all those reasons, Cinnamon Roll Mug Cake is getting a “Yay” from us!
