I swear, Keto Shellz really do exist. I’ve eaten them, I’ve enjoyed them, and I’ve bought more of them. They are made by No Sugar Company, and you know I’m a big fan of theirs. But, when I looked on their website for information about them, I couldn’t find them. I bought them at Costco, and when I went to look for them online, I couldn’t find them. Hopefully, they are just new and not out there yet. Please, please don’t take them away from me!
The Company Who Makes Keto Shellz
No Sugar Company is a Canadian-based business. Their website claims to have eliminated 604,000,000 grams of sugar. They also say that they want to be the first company committed to not having sugar in any of their products. The company started in July 2018. In 2019, they moved into the United States market through the Home Shopping Network. Then, in 2020, they started selling products in Walmart and Costco. In 2021, they went worldwide – selling in places like Europe and China.
My Favourite Chocolate Treats
Turtles have always been my favourite chocolates. Bill and I have been together for 24 years, and every Christmas he would buy me my own box of Nestle Turtles and I would eat every single one. Usually, I would eat them within two days. Obviously, he hasn’t been buying them for me the last two years, because we have been on keto. They were one of the few things I truly missed.
Recently, I was shopping at Costco and they had these Keto Shellz on sale. I bought them, as I like to try new things for this blog. I also am a fan of the company, so I thought maybe they’d be okay. As I first bit into them, it was like I was home. It tasted so much like a Turtle chocolate, I thought I had died and gone to heaven!
A Review of the Keto Shellz
These little clusters of goodness have caramel and nuts mixed together with a layer of chocolate over the top. The caramel is gooey and the nuts are crunchy. The chocolate offers a sweet, but not too sweet, finishing touch. Each one has 70 calories and just one gram of carbs. There is no actual sugar in them.
Now, I’m sure that some people would think that they don’t taste anything like the chocolate Turtles I used to love so much. I’m sure it’s not quite as sweet as the originals, but my tastes have changed over the past two years. I don’t like things quite as sweet as I once did. But, to me, they taste so good and I can have a couple and not worry about getting knocked out of ketosis. Just as a comparison, a regular, sugar-filled Turtle has about 10 grams of carbs in it.
In summary, I am a big fan of the Keto Shellz. So, No Sugar Company, please keep them coming! I plan to have them as my main snack during Christmas this year!
