Today is National Spread Joy Day. The idea behind this day is to change the tone of your social media and news feeds from negativity to joy. For me, when I look at my social media or, God forbid, the news, I am inundated with negativity. That impacts our lives. So, today, I want to share a little joy with keto quotes and affirmations.
Joy with Keto Affirmations
I am enough. This is one of my favourite affirmations because it is three simple words that say it all. We don’t need to do better or be smaller because we are good the way we are. I am enough.
I am in control. This one is especially true to me and keto. Keto has given me a feeling of control over my food that I’ve never had. I remember saying to myself that I was not going to eat any sugar today. Before I knew it, I had eaten something sugary. I did it without thinking – but now, I am in control.
I am capable. This reminds of the fact that I learned the keto way of life and I make decisions every day about my health. It wasn’t easy learning all the information, and I learn more every week. But, I know I am capable of learning it and I look forward to making it work for me.
Looking at Our Emotional Health
I am strong and resilient. It’s important to look at what you have overcome to get where you are in life. This is not just about your physical health, but also your emotional and mental health. Everyone has moments in their lives when they feel helpless and weak. Know that you will get through those time because you are strong and resilient.
Your anxiety is lying to you. This one is a mantra for me. Every time I feel like no one likes me or that I’m a failure, I think of this quote. Take a moment when you are feeling anxious and look at the facts. Did someone say they didn’t like you, or did they just not notice you in the hall? Are they talking about you behind closed doors, or are you the furthest thing from their minds? If you look at the reality of the situation, you’ll likely find that your anxiety is lying to you.
Spreading Joy with Keto Humour
There is no angry way to say “bubbles.” Go ahead and try it. I’ll wait. When I’m feeling really frustrated at work or with the computer when I’m trying to upload photos, I will try to say, “Oh, bubbles.” Nope, can’t be angry.
Follow your heart, but take your brain with you. I love this saying! Should we follow our hearts and do these keto blogs and write for all of you because we love it? Sure. Should I quit my day job and dive right into this starting business? Nope. That would not be smart. I’m following my heart, but I’m keeping my practical side first and foremost too.
Spreading Joy through Your Character
Your character preaches louder than your words. My father taught me that if you don’t have integrity, you don’t have much in life. I could say I was doing keto all I wanted, but if I wasn’t truly living that lifestyle, no one would believe anything I had to say. Your actions have to be consistent with what you say.
Be the reason someone smiles today. Truly, be kind. As a Maritimer, I smile at strangers. When I go to a large city, like Montreal or Toronto, people look at me in confusion. But sometimes, before they realize what they are doing, they smile back. Hold a door open, give a tip to your server who seems to be having a hard day, and buy that coffee for your coworker who didn’t have time to stop that morning. Just be kind.
A Final Thought About Spreading Joy With Keto
I choose to live by choice, not by chance. Never has this been more true for me than when we started keto. I make food and health decisions every single day. No longer do I just go by the seat of my pants and hope for the best. Do I want a piece of cheese or a Dairy Queen blizzard? My cravings might push me towards the ice cream, but I choose to go with the cheese. This choice gives me a feeling of empowerment, and I keep on living the keto dream.
