There are some things you just need to buy for keto from a practical standpoint.  Some are ingredients for baking keto desserts.  Some are sauces that you don’t have time to make from scratch.  And, some are just nice shortcuts to have on hand when you have a busy day!  Here are our top 10 keto brands we use regularly!  Just a side note – we are not paid by any of these companies.  These are just the brands we have found and enjoyed.

Bread and Wraps Keto Brands

Just a note about keto-friendly bread and wraps.  They usually contain gluten, so if you are gluten sensitive, use these sparingly.  Some have gluten-free options.  We aren’t a big fan of the taste so we tend to just deal with the bit of gluten.

10. Oroweat keto tortillas.  We recently found these in our grocery store.  We tried them, and we liked them.  They are larger than most so you can have two for 4 grams of net carbs and you will be full at the end of the meal!  They are soft and delicious.  Great as burritos or a sandwich option!

9.  Carbonaut bread.  Honestly, we have to be careful with this one because it’s so easy to get into the habit of having bread again.  Eat it as a sandwich or make toast for breakfast.  It tastes like, well, bread.  We’ve had toast and peanut butter, tuna melts, and toasted cheese sandwiches for the first time in three years!

Sauces and Condiments

You will notice we don’t have BBQ sauce on this list.  That’s not because we haven’t had some really good ones, it’s because they have become incredibly expensive and we can only find them on Amazon.  I’m trying to make my own.  If it turns out, we’ll be sure to share the recipe!

8.  Rao tomato sauce.  Yep, it’s pricey.  We get ours at Costco, so it’s not quite as expensive.  But we haven’t found a sauce any better than Rao’s.  It has 5 grams of net carbs in a ½ cup.  We use it for pizza sauce, chili, and filling for our zucchini boats.  Best of all, you can pronounce all the ingredients!

Rao sauce is our go-to for our zucchini boats!

7.  Heinz no sugar ketchup.  I think I’ve mentioned before that I’ve been a fan of Heinz ketchup since I was old enough to talk.  Once we went keto, I stayed loyal to the brand.  They offer a sugar-free option that is only 1 gram of net carbs in a tablespoon.  I need this for my hotdog (which I have with Carbonaut hotdog buns, of course).

Keto Brands of Sweeteners

6.  Volupta.  We use this sweetener as our everyday sugar replacement.  It is an erythritol / monk fruit blend that doesn’t have much aftertaste.  It’s available at Costco, so it’s not as expensive as many sweeteners you find in the grocery stores.

5.  Swerve.  Sometimes, you need a sweetener in your sauce or baking that can’t be gritty like Volupta.  In the regular world, you would use brown sugar and/or confectioner’s sugar for these.  The only ones we have found that we like are by Swerve.  It uses erythritol.  It’s more expensive, but having creamy, sweet whipped cream on top of a chaffle makes it totally worth it.

Baking Ingredients Keto Brands

Speaking of baking, desserts can still be a way of life if you are keto.  We make keto-friendly cakes, cookies, and even tarts!  To do this, we use these brands.

4. Krisda chocolate chips.  These have 4 net carbs in ⅛ of a cup.  Now that may seem like a lot, but when you use them in chocolate chip cookies or cookie dough energy bites, you’re only using about ¼ cup in the entire recipe.  It works out to be a delicious treat with very low carbs.

3.  Kirkland Almond Flour.  You can tell we shop at Costco for a lot of this stuff.  Kirkland almond flour is a larger bag than you get with other brands, and it’s about the same price.  A ¼ cup of it has 2 grams of net carbs.  We use almond flour quite a lot, for baked goods and flatbread, so we try to stock up in case it goes missing from the store!

Drinks on Keto

If you want some adult beverages, we have a blog for that.  But, for everyday use, we use these two brands regularly.

2.  Gatorade Zero.  I was feeling a bit draggy, and a health professional suggested that I might need more electrolytes.  I have a Gatorade Zero a day, and I have felt better.  Now, you can get your electrolytes from other sources, but this is a quick and easy drink to have in the fridge.

1. Bubly.  I used to hate carbonated water.  It tasted to me like flat soda.  Well, fast forward three years to a new me that doesn’t take in added sugars, and turns out I enjoy it a lot.  The strawberry flavour is my favourite.  It gives me the feeling that I’m having something a little special without the carbs or chemicals.

Why So Many Different Keto Brands?

The brands we use have changed over the last three years.  Keto is a specialty market, so companies are always changing.  Some get bigger, and some go out of business.  The biggest challenge we face where we live is finding the products consistently.  There will be an option we enjoy for 6 months, and then it disappears.  Prices for the products also seem to change constantly.  And shrinkflation has happened to keto products too.  What used to be a 12 inch pizza is now more like 10 inches, with the same packaging and same price point.

All that to say that the brands we choose are constantly changing, but these are the top ones we use right now.  I hope it gives you some ideas.  If you have your own special brands, please let us know.  We’re always up for trying something new!
