A big fad right now in the keto world is what is called 90 second bread. It’s a combination of almond flour, baking powder and egg. You stick it in the microwave for 90 seconds and – voila! Keto bread. We decided to try it and say yay or nay. But did we enjoy it?
The Process of 90 Second Bread
As it was cooking in the microwave, all you could smell was egg. When it came out of the microwave-safe dish, it looked like an omelet. We sliced it in two and put some mayonnaise and roast beef on it to make a sandwich. The texture was actually more like bread than I anticipated. And the taste? Is it eggy? Not so much. Honestly, it didn’t really taste like anything. All I could taste was the mayo and roast beef. I was able to hold it like a sandwich, which was kind of nice.
The look of a hard nay!
It was afterwards that for me it turned from a “meh” to a “nay.” I felt sick. My stomach was upset for the rest of the evening. Maybe it was just the few bites of the “sandwich” on top of supper and it was too much food. Maybe it was the egg smell. Whatever it was, it turned me off the 90 second bread in a hurry. So, for us, this was a nay. We won’t be trying it again.
