This is a game changer for us at Married to Keto!  A Folios Cheese Wrap is the answers to the prayers we didn’t even know we were needing.

Folios Cheese Wrap History

Folios Cheese Wraps started in 2016 by a third generation cheese maker named Chris Lotito.  They are made from 100% cheese and have no gluten or lactose in them.  You know they are legitimately cheese because you have to keep them in the refrigerator.  Apparently, they come in cheddar, Jarlsberg and parmesan.  I have only parmesan but I’m a big fan.

There are 10 wraps in each package.  They have parchment paper in between each wrap to make it easy to pull them apart.  Each wrap has 130 calories, 7 grams of fat, 13 grams of protein and 1 gram of carbs.  I’m not going to lie, with those numbers, I have two wraps instead of just one!

Uses For The Wraps

The packaging of the wraps gives you ideas on how to use them.  If you are using them as a wrap, you take them out of the fridge about 5 minutes before you’re ready to eat them.  This gives them time to become a bit more pliable and they don’t crack when you fold them up around your meat and veggies.  You can also crisp them up, using the parchment paper in the microwave.  They suggest molding it into a bowl shape to hold salads.

I’m going to try this with my next taco salad, so stay tuned!  The final way they suggest you use them is to wrap them around your cooked vegetables (like asparagus) and melt it in a pan.

When your this big you get all the cheese you want!

We buy ours at Costco.  We buy a few packages and freeze them in the original packaging.  Take a package out of the freezer about a day before you want to use them and keep them in the fridge.  Done and done.

Folios Cheese Wrap Gave Us Back Donairs

We use them as wraps.  As good Nova Scotians, we love donairs and have missed them with the keto diet.  They are usually made of spicy ground beef with a sweet, creamy sauce and wrapped in a thin flatbread.  We made a recipe for the sauce (our cookbook with the sauce is coming soon) and we found the meat with only 1 gram of carbs, so we were just missing the bread to hold it all together.

When we saw this product, we looked at each other and said, “donairs.”  Yes!  It does the trick and it is oh so good.  We also use them as a quick meal, wrapping roast beef, mayonnaise, lettuce and tomato in them.  So quick, so easy, so good.

I will keep you updated on what other uses we find for these little golden bits of goodness.  The Folios website has a section on keto recipes for this product (click here).  If you try some, let us know how they turn out.
